09:02 am - It doesn't end like that

I can't really let this thing die with a reminder to myself to pay a dude a security deposit, can I?

Of course not. But this is going to be the last post here, as I think I'm ready for the big time (i.e. it's time to use www.creativelapse.com for more than storing flash projects). Keep an eye out for that though, I'm sure I'll link it to this archive of my life, which I'll keep active, if not for anything more than nostalgia.

This will close out dumbgeekrocker as a username, as well. I can still grasp hazy memories of coming up with it, when I first started my Hotmail account (that was 7 years ago!?). Obviously, when I came here, it was only natural that I use the same name. Now we're at the end of the road, and I can only imagine where the time has gone.

Since it's only natural to end up with a picture, I'll close with this one:

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

...Also, what kind of retard has to say good-bye to livejournal. I've seriously lost so much respect for myself.

My favorite new toy: a 8" chef's knife.

It cuts like a dream. It almost makes up for the fact that my life is busier than its ever been. Wake up, work, go home, eat, go to bed, wake up, work, you get the picture.

But my knife is nice.

In an unexpected development, the dynamic duo of my mom and Stephen Wong worked together and now there is cable internet in the Pulliam house. This brings the family into a new era of confusion, as we had organized our lives around the spaces between pages loading and length downloads that are now truncated into mere seconds because the internet is literally 300 times faster. That said, it's time to close the old dial-up account, but in the process I stumbled into some spam in my mom's inbox.

It sounds like the Mars Volta or something:

02:00 pm - A Ricky Henderson Story

After watching the Germans finally find a way to put the ball in the Polish goal, I flipped to ESPN for the Around the Horn/PTI block and Jim Rome ended with the most famous Ricky Henderson anecdote:

When Ricky played for the Mariners he went up to John Olerud and commented that Olerud wasn't the first person he had ever played with that wore a helmet when he was out in the field. Unfortunately for Ricky, he didn't remember that the guy he had played with before was John Olerud, who had been his teammate TWICE before (in Toronto and New York).

09:23 pm - I'm an Adult!

Hey, I've made meals this week. They even tasted like real food too!

Tonight I made burritos. I took a slab of beef, rubbed it with burrito seasoning, cooked it and then cut into chunks. Meanwhile, I forced Heather to help (since she claims that she cannot cook) and made her do the beans (easy) and rice (somewhat harder). Either way, it all turned out good, and now I'm full.

One final down, two to go. Here we go.

I'm listening to Launch again:

The Jealous Sound -- Naive (they toured with At The Drive-In! They have to be good then!)
Long Fin Killie -- Gold Swinger (something I said I should buy in my last launch run...maybe I'll do it this time)
Rainer Maria -- The Double Life (a female singer? I can think of any other cds I have with a female singer other than Shonen Knife)
Garageland -- Come Back (New Zealand's finest!)
Miri Ben-Ari -- Jump & Spread Out (from her album The Hip-Hop Violinist...I kid you not)

To be edited over the morning/afternoon

And here's a pic of Scott Spezio (with dyed beard and pink bat!) if you really miss him:

03:37 pm - The Jig is Up

Heather's sister has found her way to my profile, so now it sucks to be Heather, because her family now knows that she's been keeping an almost 6-foot-tall secret for a while now. Haha. This'll be fun, I'm already trying to figure out how I can put myself in a position to harass everyone as much as possible.

I also had the need to create a music list...so here you go:

TOP 10 HIP-HOP SONGS I PERSONALLY OWN (in no order, and subject to change immediately):

* Mr. Lif/Insight -- Iron Helix/Earthcrusher (technically two tracks, but they're pretty much one song)
* Mr. Lif (f. Aesop Rock) -- Success
* [Talib Kweli -- Get By]
* El-P -- Stepfather Factory
* El-P (f. Aesop Rock & Ill Bill) -- Delorean (rapping about Back to the Future...classic)
* Deltron 3030 -- Battlesong
* [Mos Def -- Hip Hop]
* Optimus Rhyme -- Powder Blue Egg Hatch
* Cannibal Ox -- Ridiculoid
* The Roots -- The Next Movement

Okay, that was random. Either way, this should be fun.

[edit 1...I have a feeling I'll redo the list a few times]

The situation: I'm finishing up Chicago State in my database, and I come to the last guy on the team: Nikko Briteramos. I think that it is an odd name, and decide to google the last name to see if I can figure out the origin (which I'll need if I want the computer to randomly generate names/races (i.e. limiting white guys with nigerian names and black guys with serbian names). So I google him...

http://www.kaisernetwork.org/daily_reports/rep_index.cfm?DR_ID=10848

Apparently, he's been convicted of knowingly exposing a woman to HIV when he went to junior college in South Dakota.

It makes me wonder what other secrets these guys hide (not that I want to dig them up, but if I google more names more often, what kinds of stuff would come up?)

08:01 am - So excited that...

I forgot to mention something yesterday...

Something that will make all Nintendo-loving readers (apparently people read this occasionally) that don't work at Nintendo jealous...

I will be skipping two classes today...

So that I can go to work early...

And play Wii...

I GET TO PLAY THE WII TODAY!!!!

11:46 am - I'm like an alcoholic, but for video games...

God, I'm so crazy right now.

First reason: DS Lite release date was announced.
Second reason: Birthday was yesterday, received many games for my forthcoming DS Lite (Brain Age, FFIV, Metroid Prime Pinball (what can I say, I'm a sucker for pinball), and Tetris). So now I have a bunch of games.

Third reason: I'm out of time, just go to Gamespot's coverage

11:19 pm - Obligatory "I'm Almost 20!" Post

And of course, just as with my last major age milestone (i.e. when I turned 18) I will be doing math. Lots of math. Oh well. I don't really have any options on my teen years. They were what they were, and the change from teen to twenty-something has been well-documented in other places. So, I continue on.

r(t) = sin ti+ 2 cos tj => t = pi / 6

Pres did actually get me a decent present though (Ali G, Season 2). I look forward to hilarity.

Peace out, teens.

10:45 am - Nintendo Status Inquiry

Things have been absolutely terrible Nintendo-wise this past week...first the name change (which I am now in full support of), then they informed us that they might be switching us to new teams (I really like my boss and team), and then they got rid of my friend Robert unjustly.

We're coming to the point where they'll have to either hire us or let us go, and unfortunately, they decided Robert had to go (despite his excellent performance). So now one of my two work brothers is gone (only Gary remains), but Heather and Tran are also still here, but we've gone from 10 in August, to 4 in May. Very troubling.

At least we've probably almost earned our red badges. I cannot wait for that...or this:

June 11th, baby.

I am willing to buy them for people early if they'd like, just let me know and I'll acquire the price information when it comes out.

Just give me a red badge, quit making me dance this dance of uncertainty.

04:14 pm - And now...

My entire Nintendo world has spun on its head:

Here's the main story: http://www.gamespot.com/news/6148462.html

Basically the Revolution is not called the Revolution any more. It's now called the Wii.

At first, I was angry. I liked the Revolution name, and was confused by this new name. I was so confused that I accidently missed my class...okay, maybe it was because I was hungry and lost track of time, regardless. Anyways, I'm coming around on it, because it's pissing off all of the fanboys to no end and I find that hilarious.

I'm made the effort to stoke the flames: http://boards.gamefaqs.com/gfaqs/search.php?board=988&string=wii-tarded&Search=Search

No one has made as clever of a pun as I have yet.

Stupid Wii-tards.

08:02 am - Excitement

Why I enjoy my position within Nintendo right now.

EA Announces That Madden Revolution Will Be More than Just A Port

Square will be showing off Final Fantasy III (never released in US) for the DS, along with FFs V and VI for AGB.

The sequel to Earthbound is out (but will it come here?)

Question 1: Is it May yet? (for my birthday and E3)

Question 2: Can I have my Nintendo red badge yet? (for the picture on the badge, plus the pay bump)

Question 3: What am I, like 12?

01:53 pm - Thoughts In Orange Burger

Things that I thought while sitting in Orange Burger 20 minutes ago:

-"Robert Mak (KING5 reporter) is sitting two tables away from me...he talked a lot about HDTV and stuff like that"
-"I really like American cheese"
-"Hey, there goes Erin [Jordan]"
-"Hey, there goes Erika [Klang]"
-"Man, this is a lot of fries"

And now, Double Indemnity!

11:07 pm - For your information:

nombreestupido: i think that and the appeal to the non-gamer type...it's so easy to push it on them, you have no idea
iliketool462: i do sell for a living
nombreestupido: grandmas are the best to do it with over the phone

Take that out of context!

If you must know, we were talking about Brain Age.

You should get Brain Age. It was made by a Japanese neuroscientist and it exercises your brain.

It also has a bunch of Sudoku.

SO GET A DS AND THE GAME AND GIVE YOUR MONEY TO NINTENDO SO THEY CAN HIRE ME!!

05:17 pm - I'm Going Swedish-Only For A While

Jag måste göra svenska varje dagen. Det är för angelägen. Jag känner orolig ibland, men jag gör inte någonting. Skitsnacket känner mig dålig. Jag hoppas på det bästa, men jag är frånvarande alltid. Förstar ni?

10:32 am

I'm in that school rut again, although nowhere near as bad as it was before, but I having the same problems (especially in terms of the going to class department). I think I'm still doing okay in the classes though, so I'm in a position to stay out of trouble, I just have to overcome my limitations and kick myself in the ass. We'll see how I do the rest of this week. Midterm tomorrow, paper due on Friday.

Work has also been cut back until summer, so I should have the time, now I just have to have the heart and the will to succeed.

Daddy had a name tag that said, "Busy Working"
Mommy had a milk carton that said, "Missing Person"
John had a new baseball glove, with nobody to learn with
That's oil and water trying to mix on the same surface
